You missed it - underway!

Mesa Arch Canyonlands Utah

The landscapes of Utah are among the most photogenic places on the planet, and we've put together an amazing itinerary which includes some of the biggest attractions and also a few under-the-rader gems. Our trip starts and ends in Las Vegas, allowing convenient and economic international flights to be arranged. You'll be met at the airport and transferred to one of the major hotels on the world famous Las Vegas Strip where you'll spend your first night adjusting to the new timezone. For those arriving before 6pm, we will meet for a welcome dinner to allow everyone to meet their fellow group members.

The first day will start with a twilight photo session to capture the atmosphere of Las Vegas' big city lights against the backdrop of the desert sunrise. We'll get you in the best place for that perfect moment when the ambient light levels match that of the artificial casino lights for the iconic photo of The Strip. Then it's a big Vegas style breakfast before we get on the road and head for Monument valley. This is quite a long journey so on the way we will pass the Hoover Dam and the south rim of the Grand Canyon where we will be making stops.

We will shoot sunset in Monument Valley before checking into our hotel. A dawn session in Monument Valley will start the following day, and we will then head to a special location with a Navajo guide which offers the most amazing views of the valley from an elevated position. This is not an easy location to access, so we will camp here overnight to allow us to be on location for dusk and dawn. Camp equipment and food is provided as part of the trip.

From Monument Valley we will move on to Valley of the Gods which offers unlimited opportunity to get creative with your compositions and get something unique. Accommodation will be in a high standard local guest house which provides the perfect base to access the valley from.

Our next destination is the town of Moab which is sandwiched between two of America's most impressive national parks - Arches and Canyonlands. After being on the move every night so far, we will set up base here in a comfortable hotel for the next 4 nights. Moab is an attractive town offering great food, photo and art galleries as well as many local retail outlets, so we will schedule plenty of relaxation time here during the middle of the days to allow you to explore by yourself. We will also be doing some day hiking in both of the parks to allow you to see as much of them as possible during our time in this area. Iconic subjects in these parks include Mesa Arch and Delicate Arch. We'll also be visiting Dead Horse Point which offers one of the most impressive views in the world. On at least one night we will be heading out very early to shoot some astro images of the Milky Way over the amazing Utah landscape which we will be paiting with light.

We then start heading back to Las Vegas via two more of the most amazing landscapes you are ever likely to see. The first of these is a secret spot we have identified which we will shoot at sunrise on Day 9, and the second is Bryce Canyon where we will spend our final night.

As with all our trips, we will have two professional photography guides to ensure everyone gets both group and one-to-one tuition and advice if required.
