Utah Canyon Photography

The landscapes of Utah are among the most photogenic places on the planet, and we've put together an amazing itinerary which includes some of the biggest attractions and also a few under-the-rader gems. Our trip starts and ends in Las Vegas, allowing convenient and economic international flights to be arranged. You'll be met at the airport and transferred to one of the major hotels on the world famous Las Vegas Strip where you'll spend your first night. For everyone arriving before 6pm we will meet for a welcome dinner to allow everyone to meet their fellow group members.

The first day will start with a twilight photo session to capture the atmosphere of Las Vegas' big city lights against the backdrop of a desert sunrise. We'll get you in the best place for that perfect moment when the ambient light levels match the artificial casino lights for that iconic view of The Strip. Then it's a big Vegas style breakfast and onto the road as we head to a quiet slot canyon to whet your appetite for what's to come. We end the day at Zion National Park and check into our hotel accommodation which will be our base for the next three nights.

One of the highlights of Zion will be our hike up the largest of all slot canyons - The Narrows. This involves walking upstream through knee deep water and into an otherworldly landscape of towering vertical walls on either side. There's photo opportunites around every corner, and just as you think you've seen the best of it, the next corner offers even greater views. We will also be frequenting a couple of canyon viewpoints at dawn and dusk, which will offer amazing elevated vistas of what must be one of the world's most beautiful landscapes.

There will also be time to relax in the quiet town of Springdale which hosts many shops, cafes and galleries in beautiful surroundings.

Our next destination is the world's longest slot canyon, but due to its remoteness only gets a few visitors every day. This means you'll have miles of amazing slot canyon to explore all by yourself, offering endless photo opportunities every few steps. Being here is one of those special experiences you will remember forever, and we'll probably have to drag you away with your heels pitched in the sand.

We'll then visit Horsehoe Bend and one of the best views of Lake Powell on our way to our next destination - Capitol Gorge. We'll base ourselves in the Capitol Reef National Park area for the next two days, visiting some of the most impressive sights in the region.

You will now have seen the tallest, longest and most photogenic of canyons, so now it's time to see the weirdest - Bryce Canyon. This breathtaking natural amphitheatre of hoodoos and pinnacles is straight out of science fiction. You'll have to pinch yourself to believe it's real. We'll spend a couple of nights here to allow you capture the amazing first light as the dawn sun appears over the horizon. During the day we will be doing some medium grade hiking which offers amazing views from inside the canyon.

We then head back to Las Vegas where the trip will end. You can either plan to fly out on the evening of the 10th, or stay an extra day or two in the city which never sleeps.

As with all our trips, we will have two professional photography guides to ensure everyone gets both group and one-to-one tuition and advice if required.
